Crypto markets fell over the past 24 hours, with Bitcoin near $77,500 and Ethereum around $2,210 as several factors pressured markets.
Strong US growth and persistent inflation have kept higher-for-longer rate expectations in focus, while weakness in US technology stocks weighed on risk sentiment. Microsoft reported resilient results, but concerns over AI spending and Amazon’s post-earnings decline added pressure.
Uncertainty around the reported Binance security incident also weighed on crypto. After Bitcoin broke below $80,000, deleveraging accelerated the move, with roughly $800 million in crypto positions liquidated, mostly longs.
Bitcoin volatility rose from 36–37 to above 42, briefly reaching 44 before easing toward 39.
Technically, BTC broke below the $78,000–$80,000 demand zone on higher volume and remains below its major four-hour EMAs. $76,500–$77,000 is immediate support, followed by $75,000–$76,000. A move back above $80,000–$80,700 would be an initial sign of stabilization.
Ethereum remains weaker, with $2,200, $2,160 and $2,100 as key supports. A relief bounce remains possible as leverage and volatility decline, but a sustained recovery would require BTC and ETH to reclaim lost levels alongside an improvement in broader risk sentiment.
